Sign-up Begins for "Create-A-Bog" Workshop (8/23/08)

Flooding at Accotink Creek (8/10/08)
I think everyone would agree that Saturday, September 6, was a pretty wet day (over 8 inches of rain recorded). As part of LANDS and WATERS work tracking events that impact our local watersheds, I visited Accotink Creek at two locations shortly after the storm ended to assess the condition of the creek and surrounding areas. read more..

Green is in, as a glance at any glossy magazine will tell you. But sustainable design isn’t just the province of the elite, wealthy, and high profile. At her condominium development in the Washington, D.C., suburb of Falls Church, Virginia, Jeanette Stewart almost single-handedly implemented a stormwater management program featuring, most prominently, a 4,700-square-foot green roof on one of the community’s buildings.

As part of LANDS and WATERS environmental education program at Kimball Elementary, Building Logics designed and constructed a small green roof kiosk to display students' art of the Chesapeake Bay and instruct visitors about low impact development techniques. read more
