Sign-up Begins for "Create-A-Bog" Workshop
In late September, LANDS and WATERS is conducting a workshop at Kimball Elementary School, Washington D.C.; participants will learn how to direct water from a downspout into a dry bed stream that will lead to an excavated area with an impervious liner. The excavated area will be backfilled with amended soil and water loving plants will be planted in the area. This created bog will promote the reduction of stormwater runoff and provide an educational opportunity for students to learn about a wetland type ecosystem. Participants will assist in the creation of the bog. If you interested in attending this workshop, please contact us via email!
