In 2003, Jeanette Stewart designed a stormwater management plan for Yorktowne Square Condominiums in Merrifield, Virginia. This stormwater plan included the construction of the first retrofitted green roof in Virginia, an engineered bioretention area, and natural landscaping techniques to reduce and filter stormwater runoff originating at Yorktowne. Down the Drain, A Story about Urban Water, is the story of that project.
